Favorite Quotes
“I don’t know about you all but I have no appetite for dinner after that confession from mom. I think I need to wash my brain out with Listerine or something,” –Ben
“Ben, sit down. You cannot go upstairs for a quickie right now! There are crying women for Pete’s sake!” –Troy
This book doesn’t really get interesting until about the fourth chapter and I had hard time sticking with it and not skipping ahead. Based on the blurb I think I expected more danger or threats and they were rather none existent so I was disappointed there and then there are few places where the wording made no sense or there were words missing in sentences which makes me think that the book was not edited very well. There is great character development and you can really tell that the community, that Taylor Berke created, truly cares for one another but the story line falls a little flat. I loved the interaction of the Powell family at the Sunday dinners those had me rolling with laughter so there are some things I liked about this book but I am not sure that I would ever read this one again.
