I originally wrote this review back in 2014 and I can’t remember why or when I pulled it off the blog.

I am not sure this one counts as I had to skip the first two or three chapters. Which is why I am only giving it two stars and to be honest I am not sure if the if I am giving it a fair rating. This book had me conflicted in some stages. I really got into the middle of the book and wanted to cry when Royce broke Kasey’s heart over and over again. The beginning of the book had me ready to delete said book from my library and the end though very climatic just didn’t do it for me.

I know that Kathi Barton is a talented author so I am of a mind that this book just wasn’t my cup tea. I do love her Golden Streak series and plan on reading those books again sometime soon.

Book’s Blurb
Royce Hunter is wealthy, happy, and a confirmed bachelor. He runs his family’s multi-billion-dollar corporation, lives life in the fast lane, and has a family that mostly irritates him, but he loves very much; including his mom. One day he is stopped from entering his own building by a security guard, Kasey York, who insists that he get badged in. He knew then that somehow his life would never be the same.

Kasey doesn’t have the time or the energy to deal with an overbearing man like Royce Hunter, who is clearly out of her league. Her mother is dying, her aunt needs special care, and she needs to move on with her life, but Royce won’t leave her alone.

A hot and passionate night of unprotected sex brings out the worst in Royce as he implies that she’s out to trap him.

When she finds out she’s going to have a baby…neither of them are thrilled.

Royce and Kasey have a love that extends over time and could make them very happy…if they don’t kill each other first.
