I bet Anna probably felt a bit like a yoyo, with Nicks whole go away, no wait come back moment. I think it was admirable that he wanted to honor his deal with the other Alpha but seriously, I think he should have manned up and told Anna the truth before he dismissed her. Who knows it could have made for a better, longer more 3-dimensional storyline. Unfortunately, we shall never know because for what ever reason the author pulled the book off Amazon and I am not sure why. Yes, Finding a Home needs some edits but the story line is strong with the potential to be stronger and longer and the characters were likable, well, except for the douchebag bad guys.

Heat
There is some heat in both the woods and the bedroom but it wasn’t anything like steam coming off my tablet.

Book Cover
Purple and black are two of my favorite colors.

Blurb Rating
The blurb does sell the book.

Book’s Blurb
Anna knew to stay away from anything supernatural. Covering her Fae scent with a spell and a ton of chemicals she’d gone undetected in a town full of shifters, and then someone tried to kill the Alpha’s sister. Anna was a healer, it was her gift and she couldn’t turn her back on the young She-Wolf as she lay dying. Coming to the attention of the Alpha wasn’t in her game plan. Now she had, she needed to move on.

Nick wasn’t best pleased to find a Fae in his town that he hadn’t known about. He was even less pleased to find out that she was his mate, especially as he was to blood bond with the Alpha’s daughter from another pack to secure an alliance against Boden, an Alpha determined to be King. Joining the two packs was the only way to secure their future.

Nick was determined to put his pack first. No matter what the cost, but war was coming and everyone was about to get caught up in it. And Boden had an ace up his sleeve that nobody had seen coming.

I purchased Kill for His Mate in November of 2013 and have read it a few times. The story needs a number of edits and I really hate trying to read through edit but I really do like the story line.

Kill for His Mate kind of reminds me of that show 24 with Keifer Sutherland, which was a decent show but not a favorite. In the case of Kill for His Mate the 24 hours revolves around Alex escaping from the psycho vampire, Sinclair as well as finding and shagging her mate. The story is short enough that if you have a full free day, you could probably finish all 8 chapters.

Alex is a tough character that has met her match in her over protective mate, Carter. I have to say I feel really sorry for Carter’s brother, Jack, it’s a good thing he is a Lycan or he would be sporting constant black eyes. Maybe Jack’s new sister-in-law will save him a few bruises by keeping Carter in the bedroom.

I am rather sad that Kill for His Mate is no longer available but hopefully someday the author will republish it after editing it. In the mean time I do recommend the story but with the edits I am giving the story 2 stars.

Heat
There are 2 very steamy bedroom/shower scenes and a whole lot of sexual tension and fantasizing so have fun when you get to those parts.

Book Cover
Good thing the blurbs are cool because the covers aren’t anything to write home about but then again as I just wrote this, I got to thinking of that picture that pops up on Facebook from time to time. You know the one that has the books cover hidden behind a home-made dust jacket and the caption is something cool to challenge us to give a book a chance before seeing and judging the cover.

Blurb Rating
A.B. Lee is very good at writing reviews, I honestly think that is the biggest reason I purchase this authors books without even skimming the first few chapters. The darned author sucks me in with the blurbs alone because I just got to know what happens, dang just thinking like that makes me feel nosy.

Book’s Blurb
Alex Knight is on the run from the Vampire that wants more than her blood.

When she walks into a bar for something to eat, she finds herself in the midst of a Lycan pack.
Carter’s ready to send her on her way, he can scent the vampire mark on her and wants her gone, until he discovers that she is his mate.

Not only does he need to get Alex to agree to stay, he needs to keep her safe from the vampire that is attacking his pack for vengeance.

When the vampire attacks, Alex makes a decision that hands her over to him.

Can Carter and the pack get to her in time to save her life?

I originally wrote this review back in June of 2014, it had been among the many I had planned to revamp and update as I got better in saying what I wished to say. Plus, I really wanted to read it again. I had wanted my own format and not Goodreads, not that theirs is bad but I just wanted to do my own thing and I still post my reviews to Goodreads but I post them to my blog first.

The thing is so much has changed since I first posted this review and much of it saddens me because I was oblivious to the change. A. B. Lee is one of my favorite authors and I love reading her books and sharing them with everyone but apparently this book is no longer available on Amazon and as I explored further, it turns out that most if not all of A.B. Lee’s books are no longer available with the exception of the ones written with M. L. Brier.

A. B. Lee, I hope you will consider republishing your stories, they are worth reading and should be shared.

This is the second time I have read I Don’t Want To Lose You and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first. The erotic scenes were graphic enough I could almost see it in my head and I also thought that Annie’s shock was well written, I was actually worried for her.

I do wish that the author had elaborated on Annie’s past to further explain her distrust of men. Was she abused, rapped or cheated on? It just seems like missing piece to the story. This the reason for me giving on 4 stars.

I think it would be fun to see a story about Jazz someday, he had such a cool personality that it would be cool to see how he handled his own mate.

Book’s Blurb
When Connor discovers his mate, he finds a woman who is remote and distrustful of men and finds that wooing her isn’t going to be as easy as he had hoped.

Annie’s new in town and she isn’t looking to make friends or find romance. An encounter with a man who is as dangerous as he is sexy leaves her with mixed feelings about Connor, but she is determined to keep her distance until fate steps in, or rather Connor’s Beta, Jazz, and she finds that distance is the last thing she is going to get.

When Annie uncovers the shocking truth of what Connor is hiding, Connor fears that he has lost his mate forever.

Can Annie see past the wolf to the man or will he lose her?

My last day of work has come a gone this week and now with the anticipation of starting a new job next week I am ready to tackle this review.

Bear-ly Loved implies that it is focused on Bonnie and Karl and for the most part it is but there is also Jenny and Bailey. So basically, you have a vampire and a bear who meet Bonnie and Jenny and discover the women are their mates. Granted this makes for a great story but you have two couples not one deciding if they want to be together but you only give one couple the lime light in the blurb, that seems a little unfair, especially when both couples are so totally loveable.

Karl makes me think he would be the perfect teddy bear, he may growl but deep down he is a big old lovable softie. Then there is Bailey and for some strange reason listening to him puts me in mind of Chris Rock being the actor if this story ever became a movie. Then there is the food loving Jenny who needs to decide if she wants immortality with her fun-loving vampire or her life in the big city without her best friend who unfortunately is the one holding the elephant in the story and we will get to that in a second. Jenny would love to see her friend happy a gain and not ruled by fear, I think her desire to see her friend get her life back is commendable but I am also glad she wasn’t the pushy type or I think I would had not liked her.

So, now we come to the character with the elephant in the book, Bonnie, she is running scared thanks to a sick psycho stalker. I am giving Bonnie her own paragraph because I think that the stalking in this story points to a serious issue that many people face in this country and I would like to say for sure that the authors portrayed it well in the story but I have never met a stalking victim so I cannot say how accurate they were in the creation of such a victim but did seem like there was effort in creation of Bonnie and her fear of men.

Over all the story line was pretty cohesive and the only real bump in the road for the whole thing were the twelve edits that created some hefty speed bumps in getting to the end, for that reason I am thinking a three star-review is warranted, even though I loved the characters.

Quotes
I picked this quote because everyone one of my girls would disagree with this statement, especially my daughter, Shanny, who I am convinced believed that coffee could make the world a better place and I positive she would have proven her theory in time if she could.

“Woman cannot live by coffee shop products alone…”—Bonnie

I think my biggest complaint to date about the author’s, M. L. Briers and A. B. Lee, themselves, is their reclusiveness, I mean they don’t even have authors pages. They have gained a following and to be honest I like sharing my reviews with the authors so they know what I came away with from their stories such as if there are too many edits, so that if they like I can share where I found them so they can fix those before I read their book again and potentially also change my opinion based on if the rating was based on the editing issues I found. Am email address or a Facebook page would be a nice way to connect with those of us who love your books, please, shoot, even and Amazon author page we could follow would be wonderful so we could watch for up

Book Cover Rating
I think this cover is a vast improvement on the previous covers that had just a different colors cover with just the title on it. So even though it does not 100% match the book it is still a better cover then some of their past covers.

Book Blurb Rating
So here is the thing about the blurb, it is about long but is also a bit in accurate because Bear-ly Loved may be focused on Karl and Bonnie however that is not the total focus of this book because there is also the romance between Bailey and Jenny.

Book’s Blurb
When he was wrong then he’d say he was wrong, but he was never wrong, and that human female was an idiot.

Karl had done the neighbourly thing and gone over to lend a hand as they moved in. One female was nice and welcoming, and he got the feeling that the other one didn’t like shifters. That was no skin off his nose, until he’d had to rescue her from herself, and he’d taken her scent – a mate – his mate. Somehow he knew that the bad news didn’t end there.

All Bonnie wanted was to be left alone. She’d moved to the middle of nowhere to get away from people after being stalked by a madman. Now she had more trouble than she might have been able to handle in the form of the sex, hot shifter Werebear that lived next door.

Little did Bonnie know that her troubles were only just beginning and maybe that hot bear with a sore head was the only one that could save her.

Join in the fun with an all new white hot sexy werebear as he tries to woo his mate – not kill his snarky vampire sidekick – and save the day.

His Mate and Her Vampire by A. B. Lee

I am sitting in an Oral Surgeons office in Beaverton waiting with my son for his oral torture in the form of wisdom teeth removal, yep, all four must go, poor kid. Thankfully, we got a dentist that knows his stuff. I figured this would be a good time to get a review done, since I seem to be at my best when I’m not at home. So I will eventually have to pop out to take Jerod home but there will be a review out sometime today, preferably before my dinner date with my awesome husband. We are going to Carlton to Coast, it’s a new restaurant in Carlton they we have been eager to check out.

His Mate and Her Vampire is a humorous story about Devlin finding his mate only to have to chase her after her while she is on a road trip with her vampire friend with benefits indulging in said benefits. It’s a good thing that Devlin and Jackson both really want to keep Sabine safe for the fight would be epic in so many ways, I mean really, the Alpha od Alpha wolves (King of the wolves) and the oldest living vampire, that would be one hell of a fight if it happens. As it is, someone else is after Sabine for their own nefarious reasons so working together is what is needed.

The question that really plagues me is which was better the car sex or the mating sex, both have the potential to leave a person panting. Of course, there is the addition of the fact that Sabine got two guys to pound her brains out in one night, damn, that left me wondering what would have happened if wolves weren’t so territorially possessive and could stand vampires scent. Sabine probably would have been in heaven, lol.

My only real complaint with His Mate and Her Vampire was the 15 edits that I found in this story, that ranged from missing words to typos. I think in this case the typos were the worse because a couple of them created words that made no sense in the sentences they were in… (Sorry for the pause, but my son’s wisdom teeth are pulled and we are home) So, where was I? Oh yes, the blasted edits which have been known to ruin complete stories because of their ill-timed placement. As I was saying the typos changed the word completely for example the author used ‘amble’ instead of ‘ample’ now this would be no cause for concern except for the fact she was discussing Sabine’s breast so now the question is, are Sabine’s breast slow moving or more than enough? This is why spell check should not be the only mode of editing.

I have read this story twice and really do like that it makes me laugh and I really want to give it a five-star rating but my problem is the 15 edits and it kills me to have to think it, say it and now write it but I am giving His Mate and Her Vampire a two-star rating. A. B. Lee, I have read many of your stories and loved them all so please understand that it was the edits that did it in and NOT your story telling.

Quotes

“Jackson, you know it would take a week for your scent to wash off me where Grace was concerned. Now stop being such a bitch and just get us there will you?”—Sabine. It was true he was sounding like a bitch.

“You want love, Jackson. Go pay for it. I’m sure there’s more woman than even you can get through in your lifetimes just waiting for a slice of Jackson Pope’s dick.”—Sabine. I chose this one because I liked it and because it is example of the editing the needs doing, the word women would have fit better than woman.

Book Cover Rating
The cover of His Mate and Her Vampire looks more like a cover for a report of some kind rather than a book cover. In this case, thankfully, judging a book by its cover would not be a good thing.

Book’s Blurb
Sabine and Jackson Pope have a history.

She is the Queen of the Fae and he is one of the oldest Vampires in history.
When Sabine encounters Devlin, the Alpha of Alpha’s, she senses trouble coming her way and Pope is only too happy to come to her rescue.

But Devlin isn’t the trouble that’s waiting for her. Can the Alpha and the Vampire work together to keep Sabine alive, or will their love for her be her undoing?

Close to Rogue by A. B. Lee

Rebecca has been living out of her car on a diet of popcorn but she is free of the system. A run in with a rogue wolf and a man who turns into a wolf send her racing for the safety of her car lands her into the arms of the very man that turns into a wolf. Now the question is will she die with her v-card intact or live to be the mate of an almost rogue Alpha?

Tyler’s mother and sister were killed by rogue wolves and now he is on the hunt for those very rogues not for his mate.
He is so close to being rogue himself that he almost misses the connection but now he not only has to fight for his humanity but also the love of a human.

I chose Close to Rogue because I have read this book before and found it entertaining the first time around and was hoping that it could help me get out of this profound feeling of lose that has invaded my soul since my daughter’s death but alas the ability to escape was limited. It had just the right amount of steamy hot sex scene to go with an actual story line but I just couldn’t connect with the characters or the story line, this could be because of my sadness so it could be that Close to Rogue is not the right read for my current state of mind or it was just an okay book to begin with and didn’t stand a chance in my current state of being. Whichever the case maybe this story will deserve another reading if and when my state of being improves, I believe that would be a fair thing to do. In the meantime, I hope that the author will take the time to correct any edits that this book has because some of them are whoppers. In the meantime, I hope that the author will take the time to correct any edits that this book has because some of them are whoppers although it is possible that the author has made updates as I did purchase this book back in December of 2014 and it is the edits in this version that are significantly impacting the overall rating.

Standout Editing Misses
In this one I am sure the author meant growled… Tyler glowed low and hard in his chest.

In this next one I had no clue plagued had other meanings… She plagued down the length of his thick cock until she met his fist.

Book’s Blurb
When his mother and sister are killed by wolves, Tyler leaves his pack to seek vengeance for their deaths. Back on pack land and with one wolf left in his sights, Tyler will use whatever means necessary to get the kill, Even if that means using a human female as bait.

Nathan is painfully aware that his Alpha is close to rogue when he decides to hunt the female down and kill her because she has seen to much.Nathan knows he must stop Tyler before he kills the female, not just because it is against their law, but because he knows once Tyler makes the kill he will be completely rogue.

The only thing that is standing in the way of him becoming rogue is Rebecca. Can the human female reach his humanity before it is too late?

Shay is asked by her Queen to go onto pack lands and help a wolf couple conceive a child before the she-wolf turns feral. Shay wishes she could say no because the pack belongs to Ryan the Blackheart who hates the Fae. But if this will bring good will and maintain the peace she is willing to try. When she arrives on pack land she is greeted by the pack Beta’s and Tasha the woman she is there to help, but no Alpha. Unable to resist the mischief she basically calls the Alpha a chicken.

Ryan is royally hosed by the challenge that the Fae threw down and storms off to her cabin to kick her ass, but before he ever gets there the smell of her potion over powers his sense smell so when he burst in and grabs her by neck ready to strangle her to death he has no idea he is about to kill his future until he smells her blood, then he drops her and runs.

Now Shay is trying to help a she-wolf conceive a very wanted child, a mate who tried to kill her and another she-wolf who wants the Alpha for his title.

Betrayed by His Pack is not a very long read and can be finished in a day or so, with its entertaining characters it is well worth the time and energy. In my case it was worth the time and energy three freaking times so I guess I should add it to my list of favorite books. I am sure you will enjoy the hot, sexy bedroom scenes and there is even a steamy shower scene for those who like it standing up. I do wish that Shay had made Ryan grovel a tad longer but then I guess you can’t really fight that mating call for long.

Favorite Quotes
I saw several quotes that would have been fun to share but decided to hit on three that I really liked the most.

“Sniffing doesn’t always lead to biting and chewing, it sometimes leads to biting and sex…”–Darcy

“Says the dog that licks its own arse.”--Shay

“I know what you’re trying to do Darcy, and it’s not going to work. I’m going, and unlike you, a nice muscled body doesn’t equate to dropping my knickers at the earliest opportunity.”–Shay

Book Cover Rating
A real cover with some kind of art would be awesome

Book’s Blurb
The Fae call him Ryan the Blackheart, because he’s the Alpha that loves to hate all things Fae, but when a member of his pack desperately needs the Fea’s help, he reluctantly let’s one onto his land.

After the Alpha tries to kill her, Shay thinks things can only get better- how wrong can one witch be?

Ryan finds out that he isn’t the only one who hates the Fae within his pack, he’d already nearly killed the witch, but he’s not the only one out for her blood and with his own pack willing to betray him, can they keep the Fae from harm?
