Impossible basically starts off in the middle of the story where Celeste is telling Elliott her one night and three times stand that she is pregnant and he is the baby daddy. His first reaction is to basically say ‘hell no not possible’, for which she basically says a big ‘fuck you’ to him then vanishes. From there it’s a fast sweep to the conclusion and not very exciting.

Allyson Young is such a creative writer that I was very excited to get started on this story. Unfortunately, I wound up really disappointed.

Book Cover Rating
Celeste is supposed to be curvy but the model on the cover doesn’t even come close to being curvy with her gaunt looking cheeks, pointy chin and skinny ass limbs.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb is the real selling point of this book.

At first, I wasn’t sure I liked Cassie because she really comes a crossed as a snivel butt whiner and to a degree she was when it came to her personal life but at least her professional life is on track. Then as she said hell no to the shoddy treatment she got from Tyler She slowly gained my respect and it grew with her continued no’s. However, I will admit to rooting for Tyler as well as the book continued.

I am really, curious about one thing though, what is Laurie’s story. I was hoping the Allyson Young was going to spill it but now I am hoping she plans to share it in a book about Laurie’s story, because I am positive it will be an entertaining and heartbreaking tail.

Dreams story line was well written, and one scene flowed smoothly into the next with little or no hiccups that are usually caused by missed edits. The title, Dreams, confounds me though because I don’t understand how it fits maybe the author will explain it someday because to me it doesn’t fit the story.

Quote
I found the best quotes in this book and I hope you find the time to read the book to see them in the full context they were written in so they will make sense. I can tell you they are in the same conversation between Cassie and Laurie and my favorite part of the whole book.

“You are so fucked tonight, Cassie,”—Laurie

“Well, someone should be,”—Cassie

Book Cover Rating
The cover at first glance fits the book but then I took a second look to rate the cover and the models themselves fit it the book but the cloths on the female model seem out of place from what Cassie would normally ware and it certainly does not match anything she did ware in the story. The background is also not a match for the story line so I am not sure what the publisher or the photographer where trying do but they could have done better.

Book’s Blurb
Cassie Forsythe despairs of ever meeting the man of her dreams. Short and voluptuous, men treat her like a little doll. She longs for a strong man to boss her in the bedroom while respecting her abilities outside of it—as she longs for a different career, one she abandoned when money was more important than dreams.

Love at first sight? Impossible. Except there’s no other explanation where this woman is concerned. Dom or not, his famed control means nothing compared to the way Cassandra makes Tyler Sholdice feel, despite his preference for short term relationships.

Overwhelmed, he withdraws from her and Cassie runs, horrified she’s scared another man away—this time a Dom! Tyler must win Cassie no matter the cost or effort. When he is willing to sub for her, she recognizes his true heart and her place in it.

Bryce breaks Jenna’s heart in a humiliating way only to realize he lost something really special and important to his happiness.

Given how many times I have read this particular story I still can’t really say what it is that makes still want to read it again. Could be that fact that both Jenna and Bryce are broken in some way and both found their own way to cope. Jenna though broken still has hope (I can relate most days) making her willing to take that chance. While Bryce on the other hand has totally hidden his heart not only from the world but himself as well, so when his second chance at love presents itself he withdraws from it in a most hurtful and complete way and shattering not only Jenna’s heart but her hope. His realization of what he has done should have been a more painful realization for karma’s sake. Then there is Jason, I can’t help but think that a few scenes of him plotting and planning as well as some escalation of his stalking activities would have added a bit more thriller action to the story.

Will I read Mistake yet again in the future? I don’t know, but I hope so, it is my favorite book from this author.

Quote
I think I really like the following quote because of the delivery of it was priceless under the circumstances.

“You’re right. I overreacted. I’d never been kicked to the curb immediately after being fucked before. I should have asked the kicker for a ride home. Won’t happen again.”—Jenna

Book Cover Rating
If the cover artist was going for steamy I think this cover has potential but falls just a little short because the kiss looks more like a regular old peck type kiss not a panty melting passionate lip lock.

Book’s Blurb
Bryce Meadows is a cop with a past, living in the moment when it comes to women. He makes a mistake taking Jenna Muirhead to his bed—and not ending their connection within his usual self-imposed time period. He didn’t convey the rules to Jenna, a survivor of a deadly marriage allowing herself a glimmer of hope after many long years of despair.

When she shares her feelings, Bryce breaks things off, crushing her. Then Jenna’s ex-husband is released from prison, a man with violent tendencies who has anyone connected to Jenna in his sights. She agrees to pretend to live with Bryce to draw her ex out for capture before he can act out. Bryce recognizes what he has lost, the real mistake he made, and plans to take advantage of their living situation to make amends. But he must deal with Jenna’s well-honed ability to distance herself, as well as the threat her ex husband poses.

Doesn’t seem that Haley can learn her lesson… NO BODY IS PERFECT so stop already.

What makes this book better than the first book in the series, hmmm. Good question? I don’t think much but then given that I am surprised at how many times I have this book and the first one and I still don’t get my fisination. I do like that Hailey actualy grew a pair and stuck to her guns. Of course Warren is still annoyingly childish with his whining and I really think he needs to grow a pair and man up, then maybe I could understand why he and Gordon are BFF’s and why Hailey loves him. Because right now I just don’t get it. Gordon I get he is confident and states it as he sees it with out whining or acting like a two-year-old (like Warren) lol he seems to be the only real adult in the relationship, I guess that makes Haley the rebeloius teenager. I think the best parts of this whole book, series even would be the bedroom scenes because nothing else really stands out for me. Wow, that brings me back to why did I read this series again? As to weather I delete this book or not remains to be seen, If I could I think I would trade it in for something else, after all I did pay for this book and it seems a shame to just delete it when it could be traded. The only other positive thing I can say about True Perfection is that I only found 2 edits in my version of this E-book, I am really grateful for that given how much I dislike how edits interrupt the flow of any story good or bad.

Book Cover Rating
This cover is decidely better than the cover on Near Perfection, the first book in the series.

Book’s Blurb
Haley Snider left her selfish Dom before and sought solace with his best friend. Gordon Sinclair facilitated Haley and Warren Chalmers’s reunion—with a twist. He proposed a menage relationship. But Haley isn’t so sure. She is afraid of getting hurt again and also wants to pursue her career and live her own life outside of the bedroom, something Warren hadn’t accepted before. She resists their attempts at building a relationship, and then tragedy strikes. Haley blames herself, believing she has been selfish, and her desperate, guilty feelings cloud her thinking. She won’t walk away this time, but will wait for Gordon and Warren to realize she has brought them too much trouble and tell her to leave. In the meantime she will try to make amends, reverting back to pretense. It takes considerable effort on their part to help Haley face reality and accept what she truly needs and deserves.

Haley leaves one Dom even though she loves him, just to save him the trouble 

I am not really sure why I like this book enough to read it again and again but I do. I mean any woman who would completely change herself for a man has some major self-esteem issues. Any man who expects a woman to be what he perceives as perfect truly does not deserve to have a woman, although at this point I should stipulate that this part does work both ways, just something to keep in mind when expecting someone to be perfect. Gordon Sinclair has to be the reason I keep coming back to this book because he is the only character who is comfortable in his own skin and seems to have no problem calling a Spade a Spade while Haley and Warren are burying their heads in the stupid sand, they really need a clue. Then again the bedroom scenes aren’t too bad either, not that there are that many to begin with. Warren is a very selfish shallow man who reminds me of a spoiled child who gets what he wants only to throw a tantrum because he wants his toy back.

Near Perfection is an ok book that for some reason I can’t stop re-reading but it honestly is not a five-star book, so if you choose to read this book maybe you can enlighten me to my weird fascination with this book.

Book Cover Rating
Given that I purchased this book back in 2012 I can’t exactly remember what it was about this cover that even made me think I would even remotely like the book. Since I have read this one a few times now I can say please don’t judge this book by its bland cover. And I think the man on the left needs to be replaced with something that looks less like a pansy although given my thoughts on Warren, I could be mistaken.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb gives just the right amount vague to the blurb about Near Perfection to get you to pick it up and read more.

Book’s Blurb
Haley Snider thought Warren Chalmers was the perfect Dom, so she made herself into the perfect sub. A woman in love is truly blind, because Warren can be such an ass. Warren doesn’t really know what he wants, and questions the very perfection he apparently sought. Haley leaves Warren before he can reject her, unveiling a surprising temper and steely determination. Warren is both intrigued and forced to look at himself. He doesn’t much care for what he finds, and is determined to change, to seek Haley out and really get to know her. Realizing that her obsession with Warren has kept her from being true to herself and him, Haley decides to embrace life differently. Upon reconnecting with Haley, Warren discovers that his best friend Gordon Sinclair has a different idea in mind for them all, and that life can be filled with both friendship and love. And hot sex.
