Chastity really has a lot going on in her life, a stalker, a big job revamping a crappy night club and 2 men who can’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Riker is burying himself in booze and women while Nash just lives with blame and grief. That does make for an interesting story line in a lot of ways when you’re in the mood for such a story. I seriously did like these three characters and I really have to say I was proud of Chastity for standing proud and strong as she chose to stand and fight. I wish I could go into exact detail but then you would read the book because I gave it all away. I do think Nash needs to think before he speaks because his mouth before his brain takes over is utterly stupid. Riker would have been better off speaking for both him and Nash in some cases. I really am having a hard time being super critical about the brothers’ behavior because they are both just broken and have seem to have undiscovered trust issues, but then who can blame them (again read the book to find out why). The bedroom scenes when they finally get there are pretty hot and steamy and worth waiting for.

Honestly, I think that someone should really consider sticking some TNT up Desi’s ass because that man is a really piece of shit (dang it now I have to edit for publishing in Amazon, ugh). I have read a number of books by Dixie Lynn Dwyer and she certainly knows how to create some seriously twisted bad guy creeps. She is also great about how she writes her female characters. I have so many questions I would love to ask her.

I was going over my notes from my first read through of Their Greatest Treasure and found that I had written that the story was boring and that I had to take several breaks. On my second read through I felt the complete opposite, which just proves that all books are worth at least one second chance. I don’t remember what my state of mind was the first time through the story, but given the last 5 years my guess is no place pleasant. I am really super happy about the fact that I didn’t write a review after my first reading of this story because I would have been eating those words with a new review.

Book Cover Rating        ☆☆☆☆☆
I think this cover is a pretty close match to the story. Maybe there is hope yet for the publishing companies who chose the covers.

Book’s Blurb
Nash and Riker blame themselves for their lover’s death after losing her during an investigation. Now retired Federal Agents and entrepreneurs, they’re billionaires, and their club is turning into a dive. They try to fill their empty hearts with money, women, and even alcohol, but it’s no use, they can’t let go of the past. Chastity Malone is hired to help Riker and Nash Riley, two sexy twins with attitude. She’s reserved and untrusting, with a past and heartache of her own. By coincidence, their pasts collide, bringing them trouble and testing their fate in one another. Chastity is threatened and assaulted. She is submerged in a web of lies by coincidence. Riker and Nate must forget about the past and filter through the lies to save the one woman that completes them. But they didn’t count on one obsessed ex lover, an unsolved case, challenges to their faith, and a woman so strong, so determined to prove her innocence, she’s ready to die to prove it. Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings.

Sons of Justice 1: In Good Hands by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

Heat Rating

I decided to start reading In Good Hands because I was really missing Dixie’s writing. Dixie isn’t always consistent in her writing but she knows how to put the story together. I would really love to interview her someday because I have a question or two that are just burning a hole in my brain.

I really like Cherokee and her men should have made her a member of the Sons Of Justice, she has some mad skills. I thought it was really cool that she injured her attacker with his own weapon, how cool is that? All the characters were so life like in how they talked and reacted for the most part and I really enjoyed the story line even though is seemed the pace was set on slow motion.

What really didn’t like the most was the bad guys name, Stanston, it just makes you hate him before you know he is the ass hat determined to ruin the world. I also had a little problem determining the time line because of the flow of In Good Hands there were a couple of spots where I didn’t realize time had passed until I was a few paragraphs in but that was a small issue and didn’t interfere with the telling of the story. Honestly it was hard finding anything I didn’t like other than the bad guy and I think I will probably read this book again someday.

Book Cover Rating
On close inspection the cover seems to fit the story and believe me I had to look twice because in the story two of the men have facial hair but at first glance I didn’t see that. I had to enlarge the cover to really look and find the second man with facial hair. My eye sight gets worse the older I get.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb claims that Cherokee’s Commanders are hard core but I never got the sense of this so I have to wonder about that part but that is my only doubt since the rest of the blurb seemed to fall in line with the story line.

Book’s Blurb
[Siren LoveXtreme Forever: Erotic Contemporary Menage Romantic Suspense, M/F/M/M/M/M, HEA] Cherokee is in good hands under the protection of five very resourceful commanders. What she doesn’t expect, and neither do they, is to fall in love, only for that love to be challenged by danger and their own insecurities. It’s not easy to let down your guard and feel vulnerable. For soldiers as hardcore and experienced as these five men, it seems impossible, as if they aren’t good enough for Cherokee. She needs to prove them wrong. However, she has her insecurities, too. The men are much older, more experienced, and their military responsibilities come first and foremost. She’s used to being the daughter of soldiers, but the lover of five? Could be a recipe for disaster or the perfect match. Especially as the attraction ignites and nothing else seems to matter but loving them. When push comes to shove, and Cherokee is alone and in danger, all the training her fathers taught her, and the determination to get back to her men, pushes her through. She will stop at nothing to see them all again, or die trying.Note: This book contains triple penetration. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Stacy’s Destiny (The Town of Pearl #2) by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

Heat Rating

I finally finished Stacy’s Destiny for the third time and I really don’t have much to add but I do have one issue that I over looked in the past and that was the edits but they were not that bad so it wont take much away from the rating.

Original part of this review.
It took me longer to read this book on the second time around, I think that was because I am reading another book at the same time and I really just wanted to savor the read this time. You know how i is, when you get into a book and you don’t want put the book down or might miss something (it’s almost like watching a new episode of your favorite TV show). I will most likely read this one again, I really like stories where the woman won’t give up without a fight, rather than just sitting there waiting to be rescued. And Stacy sure can put up a fight 🙂

Stacy is physically abused, almost sexually assaulted and stalked by her crazy ass boss so her friend tricks her into going to Texas to get her out of line of fire (smart friend). In Texas she falls in love with twin brother.

In this day where sexual harassment happens daily I think it is great that a writer can put a face on it without making the woman look totally weak and defenseless. I really did like hour Stacy broke her boss’ nose, to bad she could get a nut shot in as well.

Quote

“I’m the new cook, Chuck, not the new fuck toy. So maybe you’d like to haul ass out of here and let someone who knows what they’re doing cook.”—Stacy

“Is this where we drop our pants and have a pissing contest just to see who’s going to be the better cook?”—Stacy

Book Cover Rating
The cover is definitely steamy but it does imply that Stacy’s Destiny is all about sex when it is not. The characters are my real issue because they seem off, while the back ground does fit they seem out of place.

Book Blurb Rating

Book’s Blurb
Stacy’s on the run after being assaulted. She heads to the town of Pearl as she copes with her fears from the attack. The last thing she expects to find in this storybook town filled with kind people and not-so-typical relationships is her destiny in the arms of Max and Eric Cantrell.

Eric and Max meet Stacy in the same day but at different times. Instantly they are attracted to her and feel that she may be the one they have been waiting for. Trouble is, Stacy’s from New York and has a past that has her wary of men in general. But the heat between the three is out of control, and once they get a taste, Max and Eric are set on keeping her. When trouble comes looking for their woman, they’re ready to fight and willing to risk everything to protect her.

Were She Belongs (Were Trilogy #1) by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

Heat Rating

Lexi has been on her own for as long as she can remember and on the run for the last few years. Leaving her best friend behind without a ‘good bye’ was the hardest thing she had ever done but in order to protect Sierra it was necessary.

My second time through Were She Belongs wasn’t nearly as exciting as my first time through it, even so, I was no were near disappointed in the story as a whole. There were a few things that drove me nut and I will get to those shortly. First I want to talk about what I really liked about this story. I really like the story line and how you also got to touch base with the bad guys from time to time to see the plotting. I really liked the characters, especially Sierra and Lexi and I can just imagine how much they will stir the pot with their mates. I think my favorite part is how Lexi finds out she has family and their reactions when they find out.

Lexi’s character had some interesting contradictions given how she was raised. She grew up a street kid and for all intents and purposes she was street smart and trusted no one, and for valid reasons. It is for those reasons a lone I expected her to fight harder against her mates and really thought she would at least try to run but she didn’t. This is where we get into what I don’t like about this story, the lack of consistency and continuity in places crated some comprehension issue at times especially when the time line seemed out of whack and characters were out of place. For example, when Feldman called Valco Lexi’s mate when he isn’t, he is Sierra’s mate. This one drives me absolutely crazy how can Andre’s ball be slapping Lexi’s ass when she is bent over the arm of the couch (on her stomach), seems to me his ball would be hitting somewhere in the vicinity of her clit.

The inconsistencies were the biggest editing issue in the book when the tally was completed on the number of edits I found but thankfully the edits only added up to enough to cost the author to lose only one star from the rating I intend to give this story. But as I sit here and ponder what my decision on this should be I am torn because I have read this book more than once and should for that very reason give this book a four-star rating because the edits omit a five-star rating but I am also considering a three-star rating because I am almost feeling like I should give it a four-star rating minus the star for the edits. Which brings me around to thinking maybe I should change my rating criteria by creating a separate rating system for the editing that is separate from my love it or hate it ratings.

Quotes
Usually when I chose quotes to share, I pick the ones that make me laugh the hardest or are really profound to me. This time I picked one the I thought of as seriously out there in crazy land. The way they were talking about a cleansing I am thinking fanatically insane religious group or homicidally insane cults.

“Before we accept your submission and you begin proving your total submission to your alphas, we must first cleanse you of your sins. That means the lies, the betrayal, holding back emotions, and the life you lead until meeting us, your mates. Do you accept whatever cleansing process we enforce upon you, mate?” –Saber

Book’s Blurb

Now she lives with anxiety attacks and trying to rebuild herself and her family just knowing she will be alone forever. With the help of Brock, one of her sister’s men she finds a job but the men she works for are big and hard and she feels week and scared.

Blade doesn’t trust women thanks to his ex-wife he thinks they are all conniving bitches and that includes Cora.

Beau is still recovering from injuries he received from his last mission and feels like he has nothing to offer Cora, whom he has been watching for a while.

Avery and Asher are tired of hopping from woman to woman but they don’t think have anything to offer any woman but they want a committed relationship with Cora.

Cason is convinced Cora is the answer to his team’s desires for a committed relationship if he and his team could break through the walls, she has up to protect herself.

I just had to read this book right away, after being bummed with Invasion of Hearts; I was looking for redemption and thankfully found it. There weren’t as many editing issues and only one-bedroom scene that had the twins mixed up. Everything else was solid, the characters to poppin, the story line was consistent with Invasion of Hearts and the bedroom scenes were steaming hot.

The only thing holding Healing Souls back from a five-star rating are the editing errors.

Book’s Cover Rating
I think the cover fits the book but doesn’t really stand out. It was the author, who is a favorite of mine, and the blurb that got me buying this book.

Book’s Blurb Rating
I really like the blurb and couldn’t wait to read Healing Souls.

Book’s Blurb
Sometimes the greatest fight one has, is the one within themselves. Cora only knows abuse and pain. She no longer believes that any man would want her after all she has sustained. Her focus is on her children and making a future for them of love, safety and security. She’s determined to be independent, to resist the anxiety attacks that rule her life, and to start anew.

When her sister challenges her capabilities, Cora sets out to prove her wrong. She never expects to win the hearts of five very intimidating, personally scarred soldiers. But the connection they feel, the shared losses, the vulnerability and challenges, are common between them. The love and compassion they show toward her children alters her belief that these men are cold hearted commanding men. Can she identify and accept true love, when it appears out of nowhere? Or are the scars of her past too deep to let anyone in? When danger appears closer then feared, Cora could lose it all.

Arebella went on the run with her family three years ago and now she is running on steam, working odd jobs trying to earn money to make it to the next town. When she hears about Second Chances she checks it out hoping that might be the next resting place because her family needs help but the town is full of ex-military and police and past experience says that is a bad thing.

Reno, Rex, Brock and Smith are adjusting to civilian life and are ready to settle down with that special someone and they think they have finally found her. When they discover she is terrified of men and in law enforcement and ex-military they set out to prove they are not like the men she has dealt with in the past.

I am rather disappointed in Dixie, her editing is usually so much better, but in Invasion of Hearts I found a number of spots that needed edited is spelling and missing words. They were also a few inconsistencies, for example in one scene Rex was there but in the very next sentence Rex became Reno and the later wasn’t even there. Which bring me to another major question, how can man’s balls be slapping the woman’s ass when she is on her hands and knees getting boinked from behind? Wouldn’t said balls be hitting something else?

Even with the above issues I was still able to enjoy Invasion of Hearts characters and story line. Dixie did an excellent job of bringing her characters to life and making the bedroom scenes smokin hot. Although in Invasion of Hearts there was also one really nice kitchen scene that will leave the reader panting.

Dixie, I am sorry about the low rating because I did like the story but I couldn’t over look there editing errors that I found.

Book’s Blurb

This started out similar to Sage’s Story in that the story began in Pearl with a woman already living there. It seemed that we got more background this time on the men so I was able to understand them better and connect more with all the characters and not just Diane. I have to wonder if we will ever know Diane’s sisters’ story, that could be interesting too even if it does mean going back in time a bit.

The bedroom scenes were smokin hot and it was funny reading about the men’s reactions to Diane coming out of her shell. Especially when you could clearly see how painful Diane’s shyness was for her. In fact, I was surprised at the ended of the book because I honestly thought that Diane’s fear would get the best of her but I am glad she got to fight back, bet her men are too 🙂

We don’t really get to touch base with the other citizens of Pearl that we are familiar with but then I could see that they didn’t fit into the story line either so maybe in her book about Pearl, Texas.

Thank you, Dixie Lynn Dwyer for writing such an awesome series, where the women get to fight back against their fears, and those that mean to hurt them and for bringing light to those issues that confront a lot of women in this day and age.

Book Blurb
Diane Mercury’s love of lingerie and lust for one special agent and his two military brothers send her on a life-changing journey she never expected. She was bored, lacking in self-confidence until fate stepped in and gave her a push. Add in getting de-virginized by three men she’s fantasized for nearly a year, and yep, she’s feeling like she can accomplish anything. But she’s no secret agent, not a woman of adventure and danger unless in bed, with her men, Drake, Lucas, and Mark Santos.

So when she’s asked to be part of a photo shoot in New York the last thing she expects is to be shoved in the middle of her lover’s investigation. She’s held at gunpoint, a witness to numerous murders and some foreign terrorist wants her as a prize in revenge against agent Mark Santos. It will take Mark, his brothers Drake and Lucas, along with the agency, to keep their woman alive and bring down a monster.

I half expected book 5 of The Town Of Pearl series to start out just like the past books, boy, was I surprised that it did not. Instead it actually started out in Pearl and only got as far a Dallas and Corpus Cristi. Dixie also took the time to age the characters four or five years and add some children to her characters from previous books. And Sage was first introduced in book 3 as a sixteen/seventeen-year-old escapee of an orphanage in Detroit and she is now twenty-two. Another difference is that Sage isn’t running from anything but she is very bottled up, poor thing. Maintaining the flow of the world that is the Town of Pearl through such a long series must take a lot of work as you write and I commend Dixie for her consistency and attention to detail which makes this series so readable.

Also, like the rest of the series addresses a serious issue that women, children and sometimes men face. In this book the issue is human trafficking and although there are not always happy endings in real life, I am grateful that Dixie created a happy ending.

My only complaint for Sage’s Story is that like her other books she doesn’t give us as much information about the male character as she does the female characters. We get to know the women very well; we know what their lives were like and why they came to Pearl. But we get very little about the men sure they were in the military and what their jobs are, but that is the superficial stuff and of course they love their woman beyond all reason 🙂

Still in all a very thought-provoking piece of fiction about a real life out of control issue in our world today.

Book’s Blurb
Sage Jones is an adrenaline junky. The rush keeps her heart hollow and allows her that slight sensation of feeling an emotion. She’s blocked off everyone, yet pretends to be just one of the girls. Until four sexy, hot men penetrate her heart, make her feel things that scare her, arouse her, and show her that not all men cause pain. She’s one tough woman, well trained by her family members, and it comes in handy one night when someone tries to abduct her.

Virgo, Dale, Quaid, and Matt London break down her defenses and show her that by their side is right where she belongs. But they’re not the only ones interested in Sage, and it’s too late when they realize the one they are hunting was amongst them, and someone they trusted in the town of Pearl. Can the men get to her in time, or will Sage end up losing the battle once and for all?

When Millie’s violent ex-boyfriend gets out of prison early, thanks to his seduction of his therapist and her current boyfriend dumps because he is a first-class jerk, she does the only thing she can do. She runs to Pearl and her friends, Anna and Stacy, but trouble isn’t far behind and never minding the five Lewis brothers who are determined to make her theirs.

There are a lot of things that I like about Dixie Lynn Dwyer’s books and two of those are the strong female characters that even though they may be feeling week at the moment, they manage to keep fighting back. The second thing I like is that she can seriously create one hell of a bad guy, the sadistic nature of Frank was off the chart, and you could almost feel the evil coming out of the book when his scenes came up.

My favorite chapter was Chapter 8 which takes place in the dojo when Millie surprises the heck out of Dalton, Hank and Marco. Hahahaha that will teach Dalton to judge a book by its cover.

Quotes
My favorite quote (yes, I actually have one this time, but it true fits what this whole series is about I think):

“It’s crazy, isn’t it? To come to this spectacular town and run from your troubles, the fear, the worry, and start over? To think that you’re alone in that fear, to find the fight within you and then get unexpectedly hit out of thin air by love, attraction, lust, if you want to call it that? To think that you could never have a relationship, never mind one with multiple men, and suddenly you’re considering it?”—Lena in Chapter 13.

I do wish that she had put more of the Lewis brother’s background into the books. I have notice that in this series there isn’t a lot of information the male characters, which would add depth to them and help us know them better. However, we do get to know and connect with the female characters. Other than that, this is a great story that will make you laugh, cry and want to show your aggressive tendencies.

Book’s Blurb
Millie Donovan is thinking of coming back to Pearl for a visit as her newest relationship destructs and her past comes back to haunt her, or rather kill her. Frank, the man who nearly killed her two years ago, is released from prison on good behavior after seducing his therapist. He wants his Millie, and he will stop at nothing, not even murdering innocent people, to get to her. Millie is no damsel in distress. She’s determined to not let Frank or her past mistakes destroy her new dream of starting over in Pearl. She’s learned that she deserves to be treated with respect, and damn it, she’s done with men altogether. Her new life doesn’t have the room for one. She’s been burnt twice before, and the third time is not going to happen. The Lewis brothers, Dalton, Hank, Marco, Jeremy, and Anthony, disagree. She’s the spark that lights their fires, and she’s about to realize that they want to be part of Millie’s Second Chance.

I don’t think I will ever look a bottle of syrup the same way again anytime soon, I am so glad my husband was home for that one 😉 Now granted I am not into more than one man (my Husband) but hot diggity does this author make it sound awesome.

Lena’s life has been full of hard knocks and believe me when I tell you I am a glad I wasn’t sitting next to my spouse a few times (he already ducks or moves away from me during violent TV shows lol). Again; Dixie Lee Dwyer took something that happens every day in this country and around the world and put a face on it and also added hope to it, I know a lot of woman out there do give up hope and just want to take the easy way and wish for someone to rescue them like Lena’s friend Ariel, that poor girl. But not Lena, she wouldn’t give up and she gave as good as she got, and for those women out there who are still fighting the good fight keep fighting and raise your daughters to be strong.

This second time around, reading this book I again had a hard time putting this book down and the other book I am reading suffered for it. The first two books in this series are equally hot, steamy and compelling and well worth the read. I look forward to reading Millie’s story again and catching up with the rest of the series 🙂

Book’s Blurb
Lena’s learned a lot living on the streets of Detroit. She’s making progress when a gang leader attempts to claim her. She fights him off then runs for her life. Lena winds up in a place called Pearl, where caring people reside and ménage relationships surround her.

The bighearted Dr. Jones convinces her to work for him. His son, Deputy Kenny Jones, thinks she’s trouble, but sparks begin to fly immediately. She meets his brothers Quinn and Blake Jones, and they are demanding and total Alpha males, too. Then she meets their estranged brother, Bryant Jones. He’s an ex-marine, filled with anger and venom as he cuts all ties with his family—until Lena comes along and takes a job caring for Bryant’s house. He’s mean and nasty but just as good looking as his brothers, and they all want her.

But trust doesn’t come easy, and soon her past calls her back to Detroit and the men refuse to let her go. Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings.

Anna survived not one but two really horrible beatings from two really evil sons-of-monkey-turds who got what they truly deserved in the end. No one should be allowed to ever hit anyone weaker than them and certainly no child should ever grow up with a father like the one Anna had, nothing like poetic justice.

Child abuse is a real thing and I seriously believe that some people should be licensed to become parents and I always wondered if in some cases it continued into adulthood and well even though this is a well thought piece of fiction I still think it has it’s bases in fact and there for answered that question.

Book’s Blurb
“Take care of your father Anna, it’s all I ask,” was her mother’s dying wish. Anna tried her hardest, working double shifts and getting little rest, plus her dad is an abusive alcoholic.

One night Anna is accosted in her home. Her father really did it this time, and two loan sharks are intent on collecting a debt. They threaten Anna’s life, want to prostitute her out to make back the money her father owes. Her father shows up drunk and Anna realizes she has to save herself. Despite her injuries, she escapes. Her friend Stacy lives in Pearl, along with two men Max and Eric Cantrell.

When Anna arrives on the ranch battered and beaten, an authoritative Sheriff, an ex-Marine and one sexy cowboy become intent on showing her what real love is. But Anna is an innocent and trust will not come easy. But these three dominant, stubborn men will do anything for the love of Anna.
