Sherry’s co-worker goes behind her back and put her on a dating site, thought the thought behind it is malicious the outcome is positive. Usually when I try to give a small glimpse to what I have read I try my readers something of what I got from the story without giving anything away in the story but I feel like I didn’t succeed in that first sentence so I apologize. The story was so short the only the I could do was be as vague as possible, especially when the blurb pretty much gives the story away.

What there is of Lion’s Love is well written but way to short for the slow burn romance that it is. Most of the communication between the main characters is done through online chatting and barely even touched on and then skips straight to them meeting in person, the mating and the wedding with little to nothing in between. The really sad thing is there is a whole background story that starts with a arson fire that the author barely touched on almost like an afterthought, I wonder if it ties into the other books in the series.

I am going to give Lion’s Love 2 stars because what there is written well and I didn’t see any edits, but the story itself lacked substance and felt incomplete and disappointing.

For the life of me I can not figure out how I managed to finish this book. I think I lost interest about half way through when the word ‘delish’ came up. I have only ever heard that word in movies where snobby upper crust mucky muck females seem to think that saying ‘delish’ is cool, to each his own. Then I came across the words ‘heavy denims’ and now I am wondering where Kate Kent comes from because I don’t think I have ever heard that phrase before in this country. Finally, there is the icing on the cake and begs the question; who uses the word ‘hiney’ in the middle of a sex scene? I used that word when my kids were little, when speaking to them about wiping their little bottoms during potty training, so ‘hiney’ was a mood killer. On the good side, there were no spelling or grammar errors to be found.

When I initially saw this cover after finishing Wolves’ Wife, I thought the cover didn’t match the story but then I realized the wolf is the other brother. The only thing I really like about this cover is the wolf, yes, I know there is a torso with a six pack too but it’s cliché and doesn’t stand out. It says Wolves’ Wife is about two brothers but it doesn’t scream romance or even passion, there isn’t even a subtle hint of those things.

The blurb basically matches the story but I think the question at the end is missing a question mark and that reminds me of a question I have. Why do some blurbs end with questions? To be honest I don’t even think the questions are needed and in this case, they almost give away more of the story then the beginning of the blurb does.

I was given this book for an honest review by Manic Readers

Kristen James got a summer job as a camp councilor at Camp Rocky and when she and another councilor are asked to stay and clean up, she does. At the end of the last day, she and her fellow councilors are fed a nice dinner and some serious moonshine. The next thing she knows werewolves exist and she has to choose between two of them. When she chooses Dorian over Markus she thinks she is choosing the more loving brother and it doesn’t take long to learn how wrong she is.

To be honest I never made it to the end and just could not get into. I thought the story line was lame but that Kate Kent took great care with her story because what I did read of this book had no edits that I could find. I just couldn’t get into this book and I tried several times.
