I was given Season, Unforgettable for an honest review by Keta Diablo
Season, Unforgettable is a new release by Amazon best-selling author, Keta Diablo
Season loves her grandfather, Duna, and her land with all of her heart. When she meets Rann in her woods she can’t but think he is an erotic God in human form. But when she stumbles on his surveyor’s equipment she thinks he is a snake in the grass. When she confronts him and learns that her grandfather gave him permission to survey the property she feels betrayed. But her Duna wants her to make sure she is keeping the land for the right reasons.
Rann wants Season and he wants her bad, he can’t explain the why but he will do whatever it takes to get and keep Season Scrimshaw including stand against his mother and her ass-hat lap dog. With the help of her grandfather he proves she can trust him.
When Season suddenly disappears Rann’s life falls apart, he prays she isn’t dead but fears the worst. When his mother dies and he learns that the ass-hat lap dog may have been behind her death and was definitely behind the disappearance of Season he is determined to make things right.
I could really see Season fighting her attraction to Rann but I had the distinct impression that the fight had more to do with her fears for her heart then her fears that he was only after her land. Duna played a key factor in her giving Rann the chance to prove himself to her. I loved it when Rann had a meeting of the minds with his mother Charlotte and that she was responsive to what he had to say proved that she truly did love her son but had a hard time showing it the right way.
I normally will share my favorite quotes but this time it wasn’t so much a favorite quote but a thought from Season that stood out and that I really wanted to share.
Yeah, categorized under erotic at Barnes and Noble.–Season
When I was asked to review Season, Unforgettable I was worried about the time line because just because a book looks interesting it doesn’t always work that way and given the time line I was given the issue of finishing the book weighed largely in if I would like the book enough to stay in the book. Thankfully Season, Unforgettable delivered enough of what I need to stay in it and get it done in time. However the five star rating that this book would have received was marred by the fact that I found a number of spots that needed editing and an inconsistency that really is driving me crazy so I will ask when did Rann actually tell Season his last name? Because I re-read that chapter several times trying to find it and never did. He told her his first name only and she shared her last name. The other edits, though not many did add up to enough to reduce the rating to a four star rating and are mostly missing words in a few sentence and one or the typos or an un-needed word in the sentence.
Keta Diablo, thank you for the introduction to your books with Season, Unforgettable I look forward to reading more of your books as I am sure they are as exciting as this book proved to be.
Book Cover
I really like this cover because it speaks to the sweetness of the romance between Rann and Season
Book’s Blurb
Season Scrimshaw isn’t selling the land her parents left her when they died, not even to the gorgeous Rann Brogan who saved her life in the forest. Especially not after she finds out he was in the woods to survey her property.
The company Rann works for, his mother’s company, wants the land for a luxury condo development and they want it bad. He never dreamed they’d go to such extreme lengths to get it.
Lives spiral out of control, lies and betrayal play center stage. Caught in the middle between his rich and powerful mother and the woman he loves, Rann discovers love is complicated…and sometimes lethal.
This is a stand-alone contemporary romance with elements of suspense.
