I was given Anya: The Beginning for an honest review by Manic Readers

Anya is Kadin Lara’s personal maid/friend who has recently discovered the gratifications of self pleasure but dreams of receiving those pleasures from two men she thinks she can never ever have. After all the Great Vizier and his Janissary, Drake, are both, way out of her league.

Salim and Drake are lovers and have been for sometime although it must be kept secret for the Sultans law decree that they could be put to death for their love of each other. Even though they have each other they also want a woman who will love them and complete them both by making their family whole.

I have to say I really like how out spoken young Miss Anya is, and the quotes I have picked as my favorites will show just how brave she is to speak her mind in the bedroom. And why do you ask is my review so focused on the bedroom and well the one-bathroom scenes, well because they are hands down the best part of the whole book. I do wish we had seen a little more trouble from Elif the jealous ex-friend who just could not cherish the probably awesome friendship she had but other than that and the edits I really did like Anya.

Favorite Quotes
I know I should only share one or two but to be honest I couldn’t decide which ones I liked best from these three, so forgive me for sharing one extra.

“Boys, less talking and more fucking, please.”—Anya

“I might be old, but I’m not a fool. I understand you want to protect your men, but don’t you dare lie to me.”—Esmeralda

“I promise! Less lecturing and more fucking, please. I want to see
you shove your hard cock up his ass,”—Anya

Man, who wouldn’t want to read the really hot and steamy bedroom scenes in Anya, for that alone the book should have a five flame rating and will undoubtedly get that when I publish in my blog, however with the nineteen edits that I found in this book the five star rating that Anya would have come away with are sorely depleted down to two stars and I am sorry for that because I really loved this book and will probably read it again.

Book Cover Rating
I love this cover but for one small flaw, one of the characters is Nubian and neither male appears to be Nubian so I can’t say it really fits Anya: The Beginning

Book’s Blurb
Anya Harlan. A virgin at the tender age of twenty who wasn’t spoken for. It didn’t stop her from desiring the men who caused her heart to quiver and her breath to become shallow. She knew exactly who they were. He was the Vizier Salim Cali along, with his dark as well as dangerous-looking Nubian Janissary, Drake. She knew she didn’t have a chance to attract their attention.

Salim and Drake became lovers despite their situation. They had to keep their love secret for fear of mortal consequence to their lives. They have spent two years searching for the right woman to complete their family. Both believed luscious Anya was the one and now had a chance to pursue her. But happiness had to be earned and a crisis in the mansion threatened their love. The three lovers had to navigate through lust, love, and secrets or risk being torn apart forever.

I was given Lara’s Last Journey for an honest review by Manic Readers

Lara has been dreaming of an Ottoman Prince for some time and on the night of her best friend’s wedding she has a dizzy spell and crashes her? She wakes up 492 years in the past to the very Prince she has been dreaming about. With no way to get back to her time she sets out to acclimate to life with her dream man.

Pasha Suleyman finds his dream woman in his bed and can’t control his desire for her only to find that she belongs in the future and he has no intentions of letting her go.

Lara’s Last Journey was a pretty fast read with some steaming bedroom and bath scenes. I think Mya Larose has a very creative imagination but her editing of her work is leaving me cold and messing with her stories.

This time the editing was so bad that I lost count after awhile, and some of the mistakes were so huge that it will be hard for most readers to over look including the part where she says she is from 2013 and then later she says 2014. And two of the worst one in my opinion was the following two paragraphs.

Those two words from him made me instantly wet. That man could say anything and her pussy would unleash her sweet nectar.

She jumped slightly, “Suleyman! I don’t need a woman servant. I can occupy himself when you’re away.” She frowned.

If Lara’s Last Journey is ever edited, I would like a chance to re-evaluate it as I do think that Mya is very creative and does deserve the chance to change my rating.

Zara Miller considers herself a full-figured woman who had a disastrous relationship with her first boyfriend; and add to that she has a mother who can resist making her feel bad about her weight. When she is accidently ran over by her hotty of a next door neighbor he becomes her fantasy man when she whips out her battery powered boyfriend. She is sure he wouldn’t want a woman like her so she avoids him. But with her best friend egging her on she decides to quit running and give him a chance.

Peter Adames has it really bad for his sexy next-door neighbor but she won’t even give him the time of day. Then one morning he discovers he is out of coffee, now all bets are off and he is going to borrow coffee from her and make his move.

Over all I did like Zara’s Second Chance’s main characters and the bedroom scenes were certainly rockin’ out he steam. The main character were well written but I am wondering what Mya could do with it, if she ever decided to expand the story to add more suspense when it came to the stalker, especially since the story was so focused on Zara and Peter is seemed like the stalker aspect was just tossed in for a touch of drama but it wasn’t. I think Claire’s involvement should have been a bit more prominent to add that drama and that Peter should have sensed she was stalking him.

I would have probably given Zara’s Second Chance a three-star rating but unfortunately there were enough editing issues that I can only give her a two-star rating but if Mya ever decided to update and fix those edits, I will be more than happy to re-evaluate this story.

Mya, please don’t take this as I don’t like Zara’s Second Chance because I actually do like the story line, instead take it as I know you can make it better.

Book Cover Rating
I don’t think the woman fits the story line
