I was given Andromeda’s Fall for an honest review.
Before I start talking about Andromeda’s Fall, I want to apologize to Abigail Owen for taking so long to get to it, I should have this written and posted months ago.
When Abigail Owen emailed me about reading Andromeda’s Fall it was because she saw a review I had written about a Suzanne Wright book, whom we both like. Now that I have read Andromeda’s Fall I am kind of thinking that maybe there is some… shoot, I can’t think of the right word I am looking for, I know the word isn’t ‘mentor’ because that implies interaction and assumption on my part. Well, fart monkeys, if the word comes back to my brain before I finish this review I will rewrite this part if not I apologize for my brain fart.
The characters are well thought out and very likable or easy to hate depending on your preference for the douche bag bad guys or the badass good guys. Man, Carstairs were a piece of work and I got that much just from reading about them but when I finally came upon the part with them in the scene I couldn’t help thinking douche bag may be too nice a phrase to use on them. Andromeda, however, is a definite major badass, I really liked when she showed the boys club what she was made when she kicked their asses during her testing. Jaxson keeping his identity a secret was kind of crazy but it did add to the story line and made for some interesting events, and proved his staying power when he refused to let her go. Finally, I have to mention Papa Bear, because I have to say I think he was my favorite character with his over protective attitude that had Jaxson wishing he could crush him like a bug. I thought it was funny when they talked about Andromeda like she wasn’t there, forcing her to remind them that she was right there.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about Andromeda’s Fall because even though it has been 2 years since the death of my daughter, I am still struggling with the loss and the issues it has created, and being sucked into a really good book that holds my attention from start to finish (especially when I am home alone) is truly a blessing, so, thank you, Abigail Owen for giving me that brief escape from the sadness and the chaos that comes when I am alone with my own thoughts.
