I received ARC for honest review back in 2014 then reverted the post back to draft in 2015 to update and am now finally getting to it my apologies for the delay.

This review was originally posted March 25, 2014.

This was the best kind of book in that I just couldn’t put it down which meant that when 5:15 am rolled around the snooze button was my best friend :). I really loved how Erin creatively dealt with idiots using her chopper. I thought Tim’s single-minded tenacity and flexibility in achieving his goal was very romantic.

As with all of Vivian’s books all the characters in her books are well thought out and never left behind or forgotten as she focuses on the main characters. You see the thought she put into each chapter and scene and she smoothly transitioned from one to the other.

I only found discrepancy in my copy of this ARC and that was on pg 98 where Alisha says that Anders was going with her when he was actually still on the chopper with Erin so I think the character that was actually with her was Tripp as that is where he is on the next page.

I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series then reading this book again.

As the chopper pilot for the elite Search and Rescue team Lifeline, Erin Tate is used to handling power. Calling the shots in the air is one thing—in the bedroom it leaves her cold. What she wants is a man strong enough to strip away her control.

But when an emergency throws Erin and Timothy together in ways they hadn’t anticipated, the stakes are raised—on the job and off. Now they’ll both discover the real meaning of control…and the risks that come from falling in love.

Robyn lost her hearing at an early age but she hasn’t let that stop her from doing anything including going on a back country trip alone because her brother’s job is forcing him to back out of the trip and nothing, he says is going to stop her. When she gets there and discovers she get the place to herself she is even more excited as she explores all the changes since the previous year.

Keil needed a trip to the back country to center himself before the Alpha challenge that will replace the current Alphas, so he drags his troublesome, clumsy brother with him. He is concerned about the concession the current Alpha’s have made in the past few years to accommodate the new pack members that drift in and he worries those concessions will undermine the packs core beliefs and the other challenger could further damage his pack because he isn’t a good wolf.

Robyn is relaxing in the sauna minding her own business and when she walks out to fill the bucket with more ice for the sauna she runs right in to a big wall named TJ and from there the adventure truly begins.

I always seem to come back to this book for some reason, maybe it is the clumsy TJ that can’t seem to stay out of trouble although funny as hell in some cases and deadly in others. My favorite part was when he stabs his brother in the ass with a ski poll. Then of course there is also the parts where they forget Robyn can read lips and send her into rages at their inability to think before they talk. Then there are the awesome Star Trek references that any treky would appreciate. Finally, the best thing of all NO EDITING ERRORS makes Wolf Signs so worth reading.

Favorite Quote
“But nothing. It’s too hard to talk right now. Relax. Or don’t you know how? You need to lighten up a little, bro. It’s not all pack politics, life-and-death situations, Captain Kirk, I mean Keil, to the rescue.”—TJ

Original Review
This is one of the books that I just can’t seem get tired of reading. I love how brave Robyn is and the way she dives right in to defend and protect herself and others. Although I think I like TJ the best, he is insightful and hilarious added to the fact that he is accident prone makes him my favorite character.

Vivian Arend did a wonderful job of putting this series together.

Book’s Blurb
Talk about getting your signals crossed…

Robyn Maxwell doesn’t care that her brother has to cancel out on their backcountry ski trip. She can do it alone. The fact she’s deaf doesn’t make her survival skills any weaker. The chance to get away from it all and relax in the Yukon wilderness is just what she’s been craving.

Meeting wilderness guide Keil at the cabin starts cravings of another kind. Keil’s one hot hunk of ripped, tasty male. Now she has to deal with raging hormones as well as strange questions about wolves and mates and challenges to the death.

Keil was trying for a nice reflective retreat before challenging for the Alpha position of his Alaskan pack. He wasn’t planning on meeting the woman destined to be his mate, or finding out she’s not aware she has the genes of a wolf.

Between dealing with his accident-prone younger brother, a deaf mate with an attitude and an impending duel to the death, his week—and his bed—is suddenly full.

Far from the relaxing getaway any of them had in mind…

Product Warnings: Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “talking with your hands”. Includes dangerous use of sarcasm and hot nookie in a remote wilderness sauna.

I was given High Passion for and honest review by Manic Readers

Devon Leblanc has lusted after his team mate Alisha since search and rescue school. But now he is tired of hiding his lust and is ready to go for it. But now a man from her past is hanging around and team mates are being hospitalized.

Alisha Bailey was a poor little rich girl her wanted to make a life for herself on her own and she is happy with the life she has created for herself. She just wishes she could get past lusting after her team mate Devon, last thing she wants is to be another notch in his bedpost. Then her past shows up at her door and her team mates are ending up in the hospital.

What else can go wrong before Alisha and Devon find their happy ending?

High Passion is ok, I am kind of bummed because I expected better from this author. The characters are great and I can really connect with them but the story itself just isn’t doing it for me, I find myself looking for something else to read. I have never had this problem with Vivian Arend’s work before so writing this review is difficult for me.

Book Cover Rating
I really like this cover it does fit the story. I really love the waterfall in the back ground.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb is very well written and really hooks you into wanting to read this book.
